Cohort comparison
Put two classes or two teams side by side.
Before you start
Two or more groups must have results.
- 1
Open Cohorts
Do this
Choose Cohorts in the sidebar.
You’ll see
A picker for the groups you want to compare.
- 2
Choose two groups
Do this
Select the cohorts.
You’ll see
The same metrics charted for both, side by side.
- 3
Compare fairly
Do this
Look at the averages rather than the totals.
You’ll see
A big class does not automatically look better than a small one.
- 4
Find the gap
Do this
Scan for the metric where the two diverge most.
You’ll see
The thing worth changing in the group that is behind.
Tip: Comparing grade 6 to grade 8 over the same term tells you about the program, not the students.
You’re done when
You know which group needs what, and you can justify it.
