K-5 motor skills
Assess young students on skills, not just fitness numbers.
Before you start
Elementary students must be on your roster.
- 1
Open Skills
Do this
Choose Skills in the sidebar.
You’ll see
A scope picker, a date, and skill categories.
- 2

Do this
Pick the class you are assessing and set the date.
You’ll see
That roster loads against the skills for their grade.
- 3
Pick the skill area
Do this
Choose locomotor, manipulative, or balance and stability.
You’ll see
The skills you are watching for in that area.
- 4
Rate each student
Do this
Open a student and give each skill a level: Emerging, Developing, Proficient or Advanced.
You’ll see
The level saves and the student’s card shows their band.
- 5
Check progress
Do this
Switch to the progress view.
You’ll see
Where the class sits across the skills, and who is ready for a bigger challenge.
Tip: These ratings feed Standards Progress, so you are not assessing twice.
You’re done when
Every student has a developmental level for each skill you teach.
